SUPPORT FOR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS
Because it's OK to ask for help and to let someone take care of you!
What is Wrong with My Child?!
This is for parents who have either not received a diagnosis (but know or have been told by teachers etc. that something is wrong with their child) or have just received a diagnosis. This program takes you through the emotional and practical stages of accepting your new world.
Professional Advocacy or Mediation
I attend school meetings and doctor or professional appointments as your support system in whatever role is necessary. Silent support, mediator, advocate, notetaker, or facilitator for both pre-meeting consultation and a post-meeting debriefing. This takes the pressure off of you to do what you do best; focus on what is best for your child.
Caring for the Caregiver
A preventative or reactive measure to burnout and compassion fatigue. We create a doable, realistic care plan where you are the centre of attention. This include things like health and nutrition, time for fun, friends and family time. We tackle obstacles that stand in the way of your “me-time”. You are no good to your child or your clients if you are not able to function at full capacity.
It's not just about self-care. It's an all-encompassing wrap you up in a warm hug kind of experience . An “It'll be ok “Mom Hug”. In a safe, confidential relaxed group of your peers share what it's like to parent a child with an invisible disability. This group is your home, your safe place. Where you are free to share all of lifes ups and downs including those “secrets” that you're afraid to tell anyone else. Believe it or not you're not alone! All of us in the circle have been or are where you are. We offer Heart Circles for Parents and Caregivers
